Support for Instructional Skill-Building
In addition to our own in-house workshops and seminars, the Office of Health Professions Educator Development will provide support for those with a faculty appointment at Brown University to attend other conferences or workshops that have a particular focus on curriculum development, instructional innovation, and/or improvement of teaching skills. Reimbursement for registration fees, air or ground transportation, and lodging will be eligible.
Awards may not exceed $2,500. In order to ensure the greatest amount of equity possible, an individual will only be eligible for a single Skill-Building Award once every five years. Original receipts must be submitted.
Award recipients will be required to work with the Office of Health Professions Educator Development to share new knowledge and skills with the health professions educator community through workshop development and delivery, sharing of electronic resources, or some other appropriate mechanism of dissemination. Awards will be made on a rolling basis across the two academic semesters.
